On January 21st a twilight picnic at Camp Cove commemorated the first landing of Captain Arthur Phillip RN in 1788. Margaret Cameron-Ash, noted historian and author, gave a short talk to mark the occasion.
In March, Hubert Sagnières – author and explorer – gave a talk on ‘French Explorers of the Pacific and Links with Sydney’s East’.
In May a walk will be held in Darling Point in conjunction with the Darling Point Society.

IN 2023 WHHS HELD SEVERAL EVENTS
The Point Piper walk in May. 80 people joined us on a glorious May day for a guided walk beginning at Rose Bay Police Station circuiting the point, tracing its development from the days of Captain Piper, its grand houses past and present.
A talk in August by Margaret Merten who spoke about her grandfather, the Hon John Louis Trefle’s legacy and the importance of preserving Neilson Park as a community space and heritage listed historic site and nature reserve.
In November, Jacaranda time The Double Bay Heritage Walk was joined by the Double Bay Residents’ Association.
At our Christmas season afternoon tea in December we were privileged to have General the Hon Sir Peter Cosgrove and Lady Cosgrove as our distinguished guests at Woollahra Council Chambers. Sir Peter gave a fascinating talk on the Military history of the area.
